Amsterdam Sacred Harp is organizing a Singing Day on 30 August 2015. The Early Music Festival has expressed a particular interest in Sacred Harp singing and has invited us to organize a Singing School.
Cath Tyler from Newcastle (UK) will be teaching the Singing School from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be followed by an afternoon singing (including a sing-along session from 2:00 to 2:30 pm that will be open to the general public). The event location is Utrecht (an easy 25 minute train ride from Amsterdam).
The Saturday evening before (29 August 2015) you are most welcome to join our local Amsterdam singing.

Registration and accommodation

Please register in advance for the Singing Day. Only a limited number of spaces is available for the Singing School. If you are travelling from abroad, we will be happy to help with accommodation in Amsterdam.

The Early Music Festival

The Early Music Festival itself is an amazing event — you will never see this many top-notch Early Music performers in one place. The theme of this year is "England, my England".
In conjunction with the Early Music Festival, Jesse Pearlman Karlsberg will be giving a lecture on 29 August 2015 in Utrecht, placing the recent global spread of Sacred Harp singing in a historical context. He would love to have some singers present for a demonstration. More information about this on the programme page.
